Belarus takes part in Matka Nordic Travel Fair in Helsinki

MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – Belarus is participating in Matka Nordic Travel Fair, Northern Europe's largest travel industry event, running in Helsinki on 16-19 January, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Finland.

The event has drawn more than 350 companies from 70 countries. The Belarusian stand has been arranged by the National Tourism Agency and features Minsk tour operators BelAgroTravel, Vneshintourist, PrimeTour and Studia Otdyha from Grodno. The IIHF World Championship, which will be co-hosed by Belarus and Latvia in 2021, is one of the highlights of the stand.

The Belarusian stand has been organized with the active support of the Belarusian Embassy in Finland which highlighted a significant increase in the export of tourism services in 2019. Such trend and the interest in the Belarusian stand shown even on the first day of the travel fair underline the importance of further strengthening business links for tour operators and public associations of the two countries.

The fair annually gathers about 20,000 professionals of the tourism industry and attracts about 50,000 visitors. The opening day of the exhibition is meant for travel trade professionals only. On Friday it will be open for everybody. A series of seminars, briefings, forums have been scheduled .
