
MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) — Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lukashevich received copies of credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sri Lanka in Belarus Shobini Kaushala Gunasekera on 24 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the development of Belarusian-Sri Lankan relations in various fields with an emphasis on intensifying cooperation on trade and economic projects.
The parties praised cooperation in education, as well as a significant potential for joint work in tourism.

“The parties discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral events, including the the next round of ministerial consultations and a meeting of the joint Belarusian-Sri Lankan commission on trade and economic cooperation in Colombo,” the ministry said.
