Belarus signs $7m worth of contracts at Gulfood expo in Dubai

MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Belarusian companies signed contracts worth $7 million at the food expo in Dubai, BelTA learned from the exhibition organization company BelInterExpo of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).

“A total of 25 Belarusian food manufacturers showcased their products in the national pavilion Belarus. The Taste of Nature at the large international exhibition of food and beverages Gulfood 2021 in Dubai. Domestic manufacturers displayed meat and dairy products, poultry and egg products, groceries and confectionery. Their participation in the expo resulted in contracts worth a total of $7 million. The contracts were signed with partners from the UAE, Bangladesh, Ghana, Egypt, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Libya, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, and Syria,” BelInterExpo informed.

In particular, the Primemilk company will supply products worth $5 million, Grodno Tobacco Factory Neman signed a $1 million contract, Belpishcheprom and Emirati partners signed a contract worth $500,000. The Rogachev milk canning factory signed a contract to ship 25 tonnes of butter with 82.5% fat content to the UAE. The company's sterilized milk caught an eye of customers from Yemen. Companies from Bangladesh and Ghana got interested in condensed milk, while representatives of the Libyan delegation - in sugar-free evaporated milk.

Soligorsk Poultry Factory reached the final of the Gulfood Innovation Awards 2021 in the Most Innovative Meat or Poultry Product category. The products that struck the attention of the expert jury were chicken and quail eggs smoked using a unique technology on natural alder chips.

“Frozen bone-in beef with a shelf life of 12 months, as well as chilled beef from Slonim Meat Processing Plant won over customers from the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. The representatives of the enterprise discussed supplies of natural canned beef to the UAE and Saudi Arabia with buyers from these countries,” BelInterExpo informed.

Representatives of the UAE, Yemen, Lebanon, Libya expressed interest in purchasing products of the Vitba confectionery factory.

“Although the expo is over, the virtual mirror on the BelInterExpo website keeps working. The online platform allowed the participants and visitors to the forum to better navigate the pavilions, find out all the necessary information about the products of Belarusian companies, and get contacts of company representatives for further business communication,” the company added.
