MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – Plans are in place to organize a visit of the Kenyan business mission to Belarus this year. The matter was discussed during a meeting between Deputy Chairwoman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Elena Malinovskaya and President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Eric Rutto at the WCF Africa Regional Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, BelTA learned from the BelCCI press service.
The head of the Belarusian delegation briefed Eric Rutto on Belarus’ export opportunities in such relevant areas for Kenyan business as technological equipment for agricultural production, purchase of food raw materials and food products, and use of mineral fertilizers.
A proposal was put forward to organize a visit of the Kenyan business mission to Belarus this year. Eric Rutto supported the proposal. The parties agreed to work together on the preparation of the event, including the search for potential partners from among Belarusian and Kenyan companies.
A BelCCI delegation led by Deputy Chairwoman Elena Malinovskaya is taking part in the WCF Africa Regional Summit in Nairobi, Kenya. Belarus attended the opening ceremony of the summit by Kenyan President William Ruto, and also in the thematic sections of the event.
On the first day of the summit, the Belarusian delegation held talks with John Denton, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). The head of the Belarusian delegation presented information about the activities of the BelCCI as a member of the ICC and outlined her vision of ways to further cooperation with this organization.
In turn, John Denton welcomed the openness of the BelCCI to joint work with the ICC and the World Chambers Federation on topical international issues. The parties agreed to continue substantive dialogue in various formats, including taking into account the upcoming World Chambers Congress in Melbourne in September 2025.
The meeting participants also agreed to explore options for cooperation within the framework of the initiative on standards for digitalization of foreign trade documents promoted by the ICC.
