Belarus seeks to expand cooperation in fur industry with Finland

MINSK, 24 December (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Finland Aleksei Samosuev has visited Saga Furs, one of the world's largest fur auction houses, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

Aleksei Samosuev held talks with Saga Furs CEO Magnus Ljung and Business Manager for Eastern Europe Dmitri Larionov. The parties discussed the outcomes of the online fur auction that took place on 15-17 December. Taking into account the significant increase in the cost of the sold fur, in particular mink, the parties discussed a possibility to expand cooperation between Finnish businesses and the Belarusian National Union of Consumer Societies (Belkoopsoyuz) and Belarusian fur farms in 2021.

The Belarusian diplomats also studied the advanced system of quality control, accounting, sorting and pre-sale preparation of various types of fur auctioned by Saga Furs for consumers around the world.
