Belarus seeks participation in Astrakhan Oblast construction projects

ASTRAKHAN, 1 February (BelTA) - Belarus is considering the participation of its builders in the design and construction projects in Astrakhan Oblast, Russia, Belarusian First Deputy Architecture and Construction Minister Oleg Shvets told the media, BelTA has learned.

“If in the trade of construction materials we have a constant growth, success, and understanding of how to develop further, then in the services sector there are certain nuances. We discussed the possibility of Belarusian builders' participation in the design and construction projects. We have identified a list of areas for design, an area where, in principle, we can jointly work out certain options for cooperation. I hope that there will be good results in this area in the near future,” Oleg Shvets said.

According to him, among the projects under consideration there are the ones related to the construction of clinics, kindergartens and schools, residential areas (starting with area planning).

The Belarusian government delegation arrived in Astrakhan on a working visit on 31 January. Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko met with Astrakhan Oblast Governor Igor Babushkin. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation. The program of the working trip to Russia also included visits to the enterprises Dyuna-AST, BT SVAP, and Geksa-Lotos.
