Belarus seeks closer ties with Russia's Vladimir Oblast

MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) — Belarus and Russia's Vladimir Oblast have great potential to develop bilateral cooperation, Belarus' Deputy Economy Minister Tatiana Brantsevich told the media after a working trip to Suzdal District of Vladimir Oblast, BelTA has learned from the Economy Ministry.

Tatiana Brantsevich met with Agriculture Minister of Vladimir Oblast Oleg Pugaev to discuss ways of intensifying cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the agricultural sector.

"Belarus is ready to expand the range of food exports, agricultural raw materials, fertilizers and mixed fodder, and to increase the supply of agricultural machinery," Tatiana Brantsevich stated. "Another promising area is the participation of Belarusian builders in projects to construct modern stock-raising and poultry-breeding complexes, milk processing plants, vegetable and grain storage facilities in the region. Our enterprises have the necessary equipment and competencies to build such facilities on a turnkey basis.”

During a meeting with Deputy Economic Development and Industry Minister of Vladimir Oblast Aleksandr Volkov, Tatiana Brantsevich hailed the high dynamics of mutual trade between Belarus and Vladimir Oblast in the first half of 2024 (up by 18.6% year-on-year). It shows a great potential for further expansion of trade and economic relations.

"We see significant potential for the development of bilateral cooperation in the manufacturing sector. Belarus intends to increase supplies of passenger and utility vehicles to the region and provide its service support. We are also ready to develop industrial cooperation with Vladimir Oblast and strengthen it as part of the import substitution effort," Tatiana Brantsevich emphasized. "This year we will implement an flagship project of our cooperation – an educational children’s center of Suzdal District. Our builders are ready to participate in other projects to build housing, social and transport infrastructure, and major repairs programs".

The deputy economy minister pointed out that Belarusian food products are appreciated by Russian buyers for their high quality and affordable prices. Belarusian producers, according to her, are interested in opening their brand stores in Vladimir Oblast.
