
MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) - Trade between Belarus and Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast surged by more than 40% in January-April 2025, BelTA learned from the Belarusian government’s press service.
“A tight schedule and distance are no obstacle. Today, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich held a friendly meeting with Governor of Novosibirsk Oblast Andrei Travnikov,” the press service reported.
On 28 March 2025, Novosibirsk hosted a meeting of the business cooperation council [of the governments of Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast]. In Minsk, on 21 June, the parties compare notes on key projects. Next week, during the Belarus-Russia Forum of Regions in Nizhny Novgorod, the parties are set to sign a roadmap for 2025-2027 to implement the agreement between the governments of Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast on trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation.
“Our joint projects are yielding results. In January-April this year trade with Novosibirsk Oblast grew by over 40% year-on-year,” the press service noted.
Immediately after the meeting, Andrei Travnikov left for Brest to discuss expanding cooperation with Brest Oblast and to take part in events to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the Belarusian and Russian peoples.
