MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) - The Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry hosted an online meeting of the working group on cooperation with Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of Russia in agriculture to consider ways to intensify cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry.
Belarusian First Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Aleksandr Lomsky discussed with Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Nikolai Denisov the development of business cooperation, mutual supplies of agricultural products and foodstuffs, signing of agreements in the agro-industrial sector.
“Belarus has increased the supplies of a number of products to the Russian region. These are beef, whole-milk products, potatoes and processed products, tomatoes, sugar, and beverages. Compared to the same period of 2023, the range of products supplied to the region has been expanded by confectionery, starch, pasta, beer, margarine, vinegar, and rapeseed oil,” Aleksandr Lomsky said.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in working out promising areas that will help them increase mutual supplies of products.
Business cooperation between Belarus and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast is promoted by a working group of industry leaders and specialists of the two countries, who work continuously to develop trade and economic potential. The meetings result in concrete agreements and conclusion of contracts between the enterprises.
