Belarus, Russia’s Amur Oblast to develop cooperation in agriculture

MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) - The issue of turnkey dairy complex projects implemented by Belarusian specialists in Amur Oblast, and an increase in supplies of milk powder and other dairy products to the Russian region were discussed during an online meeting between Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Anatoly Linevich and Deputy Chairman of the Amur Oblast Government - Minister of Agriculture of Amur Oblast Oleg Turkov on 16 October, BelTA learned from the ministry.

Business leaders and working groups of specialists from the two ministries discussed cooperation in the agro-industrial complexes of the friendly countries.

“Belarus expresses interest in developing bilateral long-term cooperation with Amur Oblast despite the huge distance of 6,000km between us. We are ready to provide assistance in solving any logistical issues, as we observe positive trends in trade between our regions,” Anatoly Linevich said. “In January-August 2024, the export growth made up 19.1%. The supplies of food products and agricultural raw materials to Amur Oblast have gone up significantly. High-quality Belarusian products are popular with your consumers, and qualified specialists are in demand in construction and equipment supplies.”

Amur Oblast is also interested in developing economic cooperation in many areas and building close cooperative ties with Belarus. The parties considered the issue of implementing turnkey dairy complex projects in Amur Oblast and equipping them with advanced equipment.

Specialists of various economic entities also discussed supplies of soybeans and their processing products, including soybean meal, to Belarus. Appropriate instructions were given to calculate the relevant costs and logistics. The parties also considered the issue of increasing supplies of milk powder and dairy products, veterinary drugs and animal feed to Amur Oblast.

According to the ministry, Belarus has the capacity to design and build full-cycle agricultural facilities, has a significant potential in production and supply of products, confirms its readiness and openness to expand cooperation with Amur Oblast in all areas, and to create a favorable economic climate and mutually beneficial commodity relations.
