MOSCOW 15 April (BelTA) – The governments of Belarus and Russia have signed an agreement on the development and production of the Osvey twin-engine light multipurpose aircraft. The document was inked by Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik and Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov following the negotiations between Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko and his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin in Moscow on 15 April, BelTA has learned.

As Roman Golovchenko noted, this agreement was concluded, among other things, to enhance national security and technological sovereignty of Belarus and Russia. “Moreover, we have found a way in which Russia and Belarus will invest in this project on a parity basis and, accordingly, will share ownership of the product that will be developed as part of this important project,” he emphasized.

The prime minister clarified that this agreement is part of the Belarus-Russia comprehensive cooperation program in aircraft manufacturing that has been recently signed.
