Belarus, Russia resume talks on Union State integration roadmaps

MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia have resumed the discussion of the roadmaps on integration in the Union State, Belarus' Ambassador to Russia Vladimir Semashko told the media on the sidelines of the plenary session of the 7th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia on 29 September, BelTA has learned.

“We can say so [that the dialogue on the roadmaps has been resumed],” Vladimir Semashko said.

According to him, Belarus' First Vice Premier Nikolai Snopkov visited Moscow last week to meet with Russian Vice Premier Aleksei Overchuk. “They discussed the algorithm. I do know how they [roadmaps] will be called, but they need to be adjusted,” the ambassador said.

“There were 30 roadmaps. 28 and a half of them have been agreed upon. There were some unresolved issues related to gas prices and the compensation of the oil tax maneuver. These roadmaps require more detailed discussion. The rest of them have been agreed. We had planned to introduce certain norms, interlaw agreements on 1 January 2020. Everything will move in time a bit,” explained Vladimir Semashko.
