Belarus, Russia discuss new priorities of joint work in transport sector

MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) - Cooperation within the Union State is one of Belarus' priorities, Belarusian Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Sergei Dubina told the media, BelTA has learned.

A delegation led by Russian First Deputy Transport Minister Andrei Kostyuk visited Brest on 12 May. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Sergei Dubina. The meeting was also attended by representatives of associations of international road carriers, customs and regulatory authorities.

The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation. The Russian delegation got familiar with the implementation of the norms of the government decree No. 247, and visited the transport and logistics center Brest-Beltamozhservice-2, where transshipment of vehicles were demonstrated as part of Belarus' response to the EU sanctions against motor carriers.

Sergei Dubina emphasized the importance of cooperation with Russia in the transport sector. “Today cooperation within the framework of the Union State is one of the priorities for our country. Therefore each meeting is aimed at expanding and building new priorities of joint work,” he stressed.
