Belarus’ relations with Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast develop vigorously

MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – Relations between Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast are in the phase of active development. Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko made the statement as he met with Governor of Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast Andrei Travnikov, BelTA has learned.

Roman Golovchenko said: “Our relations with Novosibirsk Oblast are in the active development phase. We feel your attention and support across the entire complex of trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation. It produces fruits. A large number of mutual deliveries get implemented. Contracts get implemented. Trade turnover between Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast is well balanced.”

The head of government drew attention to regular meetings at various levels. “I’d like to seize the occasion to once again talk about topical cooperation avenues,” Roman Golovchenko remarked.

In turn, Andrei Travnikov noted that meetings and reciprocal visits of delegations happen often. This time Novosibirsk Culture Days in Belarus will take place in Minsk. “The culture days represent part of our plan on advancing cooperation. Even more so because this period is important and significant for all of us considering the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Victory,” he pointed out.

The Novosibirsk Oblast delegation visited the car factory BelGee and the haul truck manufacturer BelAZ on 23 May. “During a tour of the enterprises today I saw opportunities for invigorating our cooperation in the already explored fields, in particular, with BelAZ, as well as entirely new opportunities for Novosibirsk Oblast enterprises. For instance, cooperation for the sake of localizing the production of BelGee cars,” the governor sketched out the prospects.
