Belarus ready to sell electric buses, agricultural machines to Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast

MOSCOW, 13 November (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko is in Kaliningrad Oblast on a visit, the embassy's press service told BelTA.

The delegation includes representatives of the Belarusian mechanical engineering company Belkommunmash, the automobile engineering company MAZ, OOO AVTOritet, and the water purification equipment factory Polymer Construction.

Vladimir Semashko outlined avenues for advancing cooperation during his meeting with Kaliningrad Oblast Governor Anton Alikhanov. The Belarusian side is ready to supply the region with various kinds of urban transport, including electric transport, with agricultural machines, municipal vehicles and equipment for collecting and recycling waste. The Belarusian side is also ready to participate in construction projects and in water purification work. The governor was invited to visit the companies that make these products during the forthcoming trip to Minsk.

Anton Alikhanov said: “Our oblast and regions of Belarus actively advance interaction in all vital spheres. We set a high value on stronger ties in the area of transport and construction, agriculture and industry, humanitarian sphere. The Kaliningrad Oblast government is intent on actively expanding cooperation with Belarusian partners.”

The governor noted the region is interested in proposals of the Belarusian delegation. They are of current interest due to plans to buy electric buses for Kaliningrad, create infrastructure for gas engine transport, the need to renew the networks and build new water purification and deferrization stations. “I am confident the visit of your delegation to Kaliningrad Oblast will result in a closer look at new projects both sides are interested in and in their implementation,” Anton Alikhanov stressed.

While in Kaliningrad Oblast the Belarusian delegation is expected to visit the Kaliningrad city mass transit company and a branch of the Brest-based concrete-panel construction company KUP Brestzhilstroy. The ambassador will also meet with representatives of the Kaliningrad Oblast association of fellow Belarusians.
