MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to help Ghana with the introduction of modern solutions in the agricultural sector, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich said as he met with a delegation from the Republic of Ghana led by Minister for Food and Agriculture Eric Opoku, BelTA learned from the press service of the Industry Ministry.
The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of cooperation opportunities in the supply of farming machinery and equipment aimed at improving the efficiency of Ghana's agricultural sector. The parties noted that the potential of Ghana's agricultural sector remains hugely untapped due to the low level of mechanization. In this regard, Belarus expressed readiness to act as a reliable partner and contractor for the implementation of projects to modernize Ghana's agriculture, the Industry Ministry said.
Special attention was paid to promising proposals for the supply of farming machinery, including tractors, trailed and mounted equipment for soil preparation and harvesting.
Viktor Karankevich emphasized Belarus' interest in long-term cooperation and readiness to work together to implement modern solutions in the agricultural sector of Ghana. Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov stated, in turn, that the enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry have rich experience in the production of high-tech machinery that can significantly increase productivity and reduce the risks associated with climatic conditions.
