MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to increase amino acid exports to Russia's Chelyabinsk Oblast. The matter was discussed during a visit of a Chelyabinsk business delegation to the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation (BNBC), BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

The delegation toured the corporation's production facilities and observed its technological processes. As Belarus' leading biotech enterprise, BNBC specializes in manufacturing feed additives, amino acids, veterinary drugs, and biologically active substances. The company's production capacity lets it supply a wide range of products for both domestic and export markets while actively contributing to national agricultural development programs.

The visit particularly focused on biotech cooperation. BNBC has already supplied 140 tonnes of amino acids to Chelyabinsk Oblast in 2025. Belarus expressed interest in further expansion of deliveries, including not only BNBC's core products like amino acids and veterinary medicines but also agricultural seeds.

Belarus has confirmed its readiness to supply advanced livestock equipment and breeding stock to Russia's Chelyabinsk Oblast while expressing interest in strengthening scientific and educational cooperation. The proposal builds on existing agreements between Belarusian and Russian agricultural universities.

The parties highlighted substantial potential for further development of trade relations between the two regions.

In H1 2025 the mutual trade between Belarus and Russia’s Chelyabinsk Oblast showed steady growth, with bilateral turnover increasing 1.4-fold compared to the same period in 2024. Belarusian food exports to the region rose by 1.5 times, covering nearly all major agricultural categories including beef, dairy products, canned fish, and vegetables. In return, Chelyabinsk Oblast supplies Belarus with rice, wheat flour, pasta, poultry, and frozen fish.
