
MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) - Belarus and Qatar enjoy long-standing friendship and partnership, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani on 23 February, BelTA has learned.
“We sincerely admire Qatar's recent achievements, infrastructure development. The county has hosted a large number of international political and sporting events of the highest level,” Roman Golovchenko said. "Belarus has a lot to offer to the Qatari side. Our country has significant military-technical, industrial, scientific and agricultural potential and opportunities for food supplies to ensure food security.”
The Belarusian head of government stressed that Belarus has made strides in developing high technologies and in digitalization. “In turn, Qatar has a well-developed banking system. These are our most obvious cooperation prospects,” Roman Golovchenko stated.
Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko arrived in Qatar on an official visit on 22 February.
