Belarus posts strongest agricultural output growth in EAEU in January-February 2024

MOSCOW, 8 April (BelTA) - Belarus recorded the strongest agricultural output growth among the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in January-February 2024, BelTA learned from the data of the Statistics Department of the Eurasian Economic Union.

“In January-February 2024, agricultural output across farms of all categories in the Eurasian Economic Union increased by 1.2% compared to the same period of 2023. Growth was observed in all EAEU states (excluding data on Armenia),” the EEC stated.

According to the EEC, the agricultural output growth in Belarus amounted to 6.9% in the first two months of 2024 compared to the same period last year. The growth made up 1.4% in Kyrgyzstan, 1.3% in Kazakhstan and 0.2% in Russia.

“Production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in the EAEU increased by 3.2%, milk - by 4%, egg production decreased by 0.4%. The highest growth in the output of major livestock products was recorded in Belarus,” the EEC added.
