Belarus' PM outlines manufacturing cooperation prospects in EAEU

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko sketched out prospects of manufacturing cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Union at an expanded meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, BelTA has learned.

Roman Golovchenko said: “In light of disruptions of global supply chains and logistic schemes it is necessary to advance manufacturing cooperation and import substitution. We expect the agreements reached upon Belarus' initiative at a session of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission on 10 June with regard to the realization of manufacturing cooperation projects to become one of the most important directions of this work.”

Roman Golovchenko stressed the need to move towards the realization of cross-cutting manufacturing cooperation projects, in which national producers of all the Eurasian Economic Union member states could participate. “Thanks to that we will be able to move towards making high-tech and much-needed specimens of industrial products, to which each country has contributed,” he added. In his words, it can become one of the first samples of the so-called Eurasian Economic Union product.

“Later on by polishing these mechanisms we will be able to move towards creating some Eurasian consortiums or corporations, which could enable the joint production of modern products that the markets of our countries need,” Roman Golovchenko concluded.
