ALMATY, 31 January (BelTA) - Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko outlined the priority areas of integration with the EAEU as he spoke at the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Almaty on 31 January, BelTA has learned.
The need was emphasized to ensure qualitative development of Eurasian economic integration until 2025 and fulfill all the tasks of the five-year plan. Thus, a qualitative basis will be prepared for the implementation of the guidelines defined by the heads of state in the declaration on the further development of economic processes in the EAEU until 2030 and in the perspective until 2045.
“There is a need for specific managerial solutions to effectively regulate the whole range of integration issues taking into account all probable scenarios of economic processes development in the world and the region,” Roman Golovchenko said.
Among the priority areas of integration he named the development of the EAEU's technological potential and the formation of a common cooperative space. Work on these issues is underway, but, according to Roman Golovchenko, a greater practical impact of the adopted documents is needed.
“I suggest that the Commission and the industrial bloc in particular focus their efforts on finding new promising areas of cooperation and more actively promote Eurasian projects. We will conduct a more detailed consideration of the whole complex of industrial cooperation issues as part of the autumn meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, which Belarus suggests combining in Minsk with the visiting session of the international industrial exhibition Innoprom,” the prime minister said.
He also drew attention to the intensification of cooperation in digital transformation, international positioning of the EAEU and the need to ensure full Eurasian presence in key foreign markets. “It is necessary to take a proactive position in international activities, to develop mechanisms of cooperation with the EAEU observer states, to strive for the alignment of integration formats of the EAEU, CIS, SCO, BRICS and so on,” Roman Golovchenko said.
He called the formation of the social component of Eurasian integration as an important factor in ensuring sustainable economic growth. “The focus of our attention should be on the issues of increasing effective employment, protection of workers, economic aspects of cooperation on the social block of issues,” the prime minister added.
This year marks an important date - the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. A suggestion was made to produce a thematic video. “This memory should be cherished to prevent the revival of Nazism, which again raises its head and becomes a threat to humanity,” Roman Golovchenko stressed.
The meeting considered the macroeconomic situation, customs administration, digitalization, financial policy, support for cooperation projects, development of transport infrastructure in the EAEU countries.
