Belarus’ PM discusses new economic growth points with Russian expert

MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin held a meeting with Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Lomonosov Moscow State University and Doctor of Economics Alexander Auzan, BelTA has learned.

“We are currently in the process of developing policy documents for the next five-year period, as well as the National Strategy for Sustainable Development until 2040. We are interested in the possibility of cooperation with you, your ideas, research, your assessment of our economy, our strengths and weaknesses,” Aleksandr Turchin said. 

The meeting focused on additional opportunities for economic growth. According to the prime minister, the global economy is slowing down, and forecasts are revised downward. “Therefore, the search for new growth points is a priority for us. We hope that our meeting will produce strategic proposals and scientifically sound ideas that can form the basis of Belarus' economic policy in the new five-year period,” he emphasized.
