MINSK, 23 June (BelTA) – Belarus’ biggest petrochemical enterprises are participating in the international exhibition of plastics, rubber, composites and petrochemicals Plast Expo 2025 in Casablanca, Morocco, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry (Belneftekhim Concern).

Visitors will see product samples, commercial offers and promotional products of Belshina, Grodno Azot and Polotsk-Steklovolokno.

The theme of this year's exhibition, which will be running until 25 June, is “Plastics at the center of innovative industrial alliances”. About 300 national and international exhibitors have set up their stands at one of the largest exhibition centers in the region. There are exhibitors from Belarus, Egypt, India, Spain, Italy, Qatar, Türkiye, Portugal, France and a number of other countries. It is expected that Plast Expo 2025 will draw more than 20,000 visitors this year.

“This is the 10th edition of the exhibition. The exhibition is gaining momentum for two reasons. The first one is that the country's plastics industry market is growing rapidly. Today, it is estimated at approximately $1.36 billion and is the second most important transformed market in the chemical industry. The industry generates about $2 billion annually and accounts for approximately 5% of the manufacturing industry’s GDP. The second reason is that Casablanca is the country’s economic powerhouse. The national port located there handles more than 80% of Morocco’s trade. In addition, it is Africa’s gateway to the rest of the world,” the concern added.

Despite the distance, Morocco is a promising sales market for the  Belarusian petrochemical industry. Belshina plans to offer truck tires and rubber products for the Moroccan automobile industry (in particular, Renault and Stellantis plants), Grodno Azot - nitrogen fertilizers and polyamides for the agricultural sector and the processing industry, Polotsk-Steklovolokno - composite materials for construction and wind energy (Morocco has launched mega-projects in the field of renewable energy).

Today, Moroccan companies purchase polymers and fertilizers from Saudi Arabia and China, but Belarusian manufacturers might be able to offer a better price-quality ratio.
