
MINSK, 14 February (BelTA) - Belarus and Pakistan identified priority areas of cooperation in science and technology during the fifth meeting of the joint Belarus-Pakistan commission on cooperation in science and technology held via videoconference, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus.
The meeting focused on the current state and prospects of scientific, technological and innovative development in Belarus and Pakistan, and discussed the S&T cooperation between the two countries. By 2025, the leading institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Belarusian State University and the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the National University of Sciences & Technology of Pakistan successfully implemented three joint S&T projects in organic farming, nanotechnologies in electronics, and new materials.
The parties outlined the priority areas of joint activities for 2025-2026. Among them are artificial intelligence, medicine, biotechnology, energy, mechanical engineering, and agriculture. The parties announced a joint Belarusian-Pakistani S&T project competition in these areas for 2025-2027.
Belarus and Pakistan also intend to hold joint scientific events, exchange students, teachers and specialists to conduct research and development of mutual interest, and participate in scientific conferences, symposiums, seminars and internships.
The sixth meeting of the commission is due to be held in Belarus in 2027.
