Belarus-Pakistan commission on science to meet in H1 2020

MINSK, 21 January (BelTA) – Belarus and Pakistan will hold a meeting of its joint commission on cooperation in science and technology in the first half of 2020, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The issue was discussed at a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Pakistan Andrei Yermolovich and Federal Minister for Science and Technology of Pakistan Fawad Hussain Chaudhry. The Belarusian diplomat handed over an invitation to the Pakistani minister from the State Science and Technology Committee to pay a working visit to Minsk to take part in a meeting of the joint Belarusian-Pakistani commission. The parties discussed the program of the visit, including a visit to the Hi-Tech Park and the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone.

The parties also discussed Belarus-Pakistan cooperation in science and technology, including joint projects suggested following the competition held by the Belarusian State Science and Technology Committee and the Ministry for Science and Technology of Pakistan in 2019.

The parties expressed mutual interest in sharing best practices and developing practical cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan in areas such as agriculture mechanization, remote sensing of the Earth, bio and medical technologies, medical equipment, robotics, and setting up joint companies to promote products to third countries.
