Projects worth $1.4bn in Belarus' investment atlas

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) - The National Investment and Privatization Agency of Belarus has compiled an atlas of investment projects which require about $1.4 billion in investments, head of the investor support department at the NAIP Artem Shkryl told the media, BelTA has learned.

“The National Investment and Privatization Agency has prepared an atlas of investment projects in conjunction with government agencies and regional authorities ahead of the Belarusian Industrial and Investment Forum. It includes about 50 projects with a total need for investments at about $1.4 billion,” Artem Shkryl said.

The atlas features projects in engineering, metalworking, instrument making industry, textile and food industries, chemistry and petrochemicals.

The atlas will be presented at the Belarusian Industrial and Investment Forum due in Minsk on 17-20 September. The list of proposed investment projects will also be available on the websites of the NAIP and the Industry Ministry.

The Belarusian-Japanese economic forum will be co-located with the event. “This, we can say, will be a return visit of representatives of Japan. Last year and this year the NAIP held economic forums in Japan. They were attended by about 100 Japanese companies, which confirms the interest in Belarusian business,” Artem Shkryl noted.
