Belarus named EAEU leader in industrial output growth

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) - Belarus posted the highest industrial output growth among the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries in January-November 2023, according to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), BelTA has learned.

“In January-November 2023 the industrial output in the Eurasian Economic Union rose by 3.8% over January-November 2022. The industrial output went up by 7.9% in Belarus, by 4.3% in Kazakhstan, 3.6% in Russia, 2.1% in Armenia and 1.8% in Kyrgyzstan,” EEC stated.

In January-November 2023, agricultural output in the EAEU in all categories of farms decreased by 2.2% year-on-year. However, the growth was observed in Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, while the decrease was registered in Kazakhstan and Russia.

"Thus, the production of main types of livestock products increased: that of livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight) - by 2.2% year-on-year, milk production - by 3%, egg production - by 0.9%. The growth in the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight) and milk production was observed in all EAEU countries (excluding Armenia). Egg production rose in Kyrgyzstan and Russia, and shrank in Belarus and Kazakhstan," the EEC added.
