MOGILEV, 15 September (BelTA) – In the run-up to its 55th anniversary, Mogilevliftmash elevator producer has rolled out its 375,000th elevator that will be mounted in Russia's Perm in October this year, Anton Belsky, Deputy Director General for Commercial Affairs of the company, told BelTA.
“Our company positions itself as a leading elevator manufacturer in the post-Soviet space. We produce a wide range of passenger and freight elevators - about 200 models in total. Every month 1,100 to 1,250 elevators roll off the company's assembly line. About 80% of elevators are slated for export. Russia has been our biggest market for many years. Today, the company is actively penetrating the markets of Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and Armenia. The company's capacity utilization is over 90%,” Anton Belsky informed.
The Mogilev-based manufacturer tries to take part in every tender in Belarus. In order to be ahead of the curve, the company is working hard to improve its performance and operating efficiency. It also seeks to be more flexible, mobile, visible and customer-focused. The company is ready to meet all customer needs in terms of equipment specifications.
“Over many years of operation, we have learned to produce reliable, safe and comfortable elevators. About 60% of the output is used in new construction projects: Mogilev-made elevators are mounted in residential buildings, production premises and administrative buildings, in sports and social infrastructure facilities. The full-cycle production at the company's own premises allows ensuring all-round quality control. The share of imported component parts does not exceed 15-20%. Another indisputable advantage is the low cost of elevator maintenance during operation, which allows users to save on repairs,” the deputy director general said.
According to Anton Belsky, post-warranty and service maintenance of elevators is another area of focus for the company. A phased production upgrade never stops. In January-September this year, more than Br13 million has been invested in the purchase of new equipment and maintenance of the premises. “One of the company's development priorities is the launch of new types of products,” the deputy director general continued. “Several years ago, the company began to produce escalators and moving walkways, which enabled it to take new market niches and to supply products to business centers and malls, railway stations and airports. In addition to that, the enterprise started producing parking lots of various types. Now the company is working on production of high-speed elevators. It also plans to penetrate markets of the distant arc countries and the European Union. We believe that these plans hold a lot of promise, while the traditional markets are already over-saturated,” he said.
Mogilevliftmash is one of the largest elevator producers in Eastern Europe. It makes elevators and spare parts to them, upgrades elevators, produces escalators, wheelchair lifts and other related products. The company employs about 5,500 people.
