Belarus' Mogilev may export frozen beef to China

MOGILEV, 22 October (BelTA) – A project to export frozen beef to China was discussed in a business meeting between representatives of Shenyang JinHai International Trade Co LTD and Mogilev District Executive Committee in Mogilev District on 22 October, BelTA has learned.

“One of the areas of cooperation with China could be a project to sell frozen beef for Chinese hypermarkets. Investors are interested in building a complex for growing young cattle in our area with the subsequent technological processing of products at the Mogilev meat processing plant and export of beef to the Chinese market,” said Deputy Chairwoman of the Mogilev District Executive Committee Irina Chindo.

According to Irina Chindo, Mogilev District is home to over 2,000 organizations, many of which were built with foreign capital and work for export. Their foreign economic activity covers more than 60 countries. In January-August 2021 alone exports exceeded $500 million. “We are interested in new investors, because they contribute to improving the quality of life in our area,” the deputy chairperson said.

The meeting of representatives of the Mogilev District Executive Committee with the foreign delegation was part of a business visit of Chinese representatives to Belarus.
