Belarus' merchandise export figures keep improving

MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) – Positive dynamics of merchandise export has been in place for four months already, the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry told BelTA.

Positive dynamics has been observed for four months after merchandise export dropped in March 2022 due to stronger pressure of Western sanctions. In June Belarus' merchandise export reached $3.2 billion, 14% up from May 2022. Export continued growing in July, with the export growth rate reaching 101.7%.

The export growth rates in June and July 2022 were close to the figures registered in June and July 2021: 99.6% as against June 2021 and 97.5% as against July 2021. The positive changes are attributed to continued efforts to redirect Belarusian export to alternative target markets and increase trade with friendly countries.
