MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) - More than 60% of Belarus’ MAZ vehicles are exported to Russia, Deputy Director General of MAZ - Managing Company of BELAVTOMAZ Holding Company - Marketing Director Vladimir Yanushko told the media during the Russian journalists’ visit to the enterprise as part of a one-week press tour, BelTA has learned.
MAZ produces more than 14,000 vehicles a year. The plant’s annual output comprises 10,000 trucks, including about 6,000-6,500 fitted with Belarusian engines. The rest are equipped with Russian ones. “The enterprise exports all kinds of vehicles, including passenger ones. About 62% of the total output is exported to Russia. Truck tractors are in the greatest demand. We work a lot in Russia and develop partner programs. We have 32 Russian partner plants where we supply chassis. They use out chassis to make their products. This turns out to be a Russian-made vehicle, which allows us to participate in subsidy programs in the Russian Federation,” Vladimir Yanushko said.

Today the level of localization for certain models reaches 96%,” the deputy director general stressed.
