Belarus, Kenya set to develop interregional cooperation in agriculture

MINSK, 25 August (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kenya Pavel Vzyatkin paid a visit to Nyandarua County on 25 August, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Kenya.

The head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission took part in the inauguration ceremony of Nyandarua County Governor Moses Kiarie Badilisha. As part of the event, the Belarusian ambassador met with the head of the region.

The parties focused on the development of regional economic cooperation between Belarus and Kenya, with a focus on the use of opportunities for cooperation in agriculture.

The Belarusian diplomat also met with representatives of the business community of Nyandarua County.

Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Kenya were established on 17 November 1993. The legal framework for bilateral cooperation is in the process of development. The agreement on cooperation between the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry was signed on 15 July 2021. Preparations are underway to sign a number of other regulatory instruments.
