Belarus keen to implement construction projects in Kazakhstan

MINSK, 22 July (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in building a Belarusian quarter in Kazakhstan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kazakhstan Pavel Utyupin told journalists ahead of a meeting between representatives of Belarusian embassies and companies on 22 July, BelTA has learned.

“There are great prospects for Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation in construction. We are looking into the possibility to build a Belarusian quarter in Kazakhstan, which will allow us to demonstrate our capacities in design and construction. We could also fit out housing in the quarter with Belarusian furniture and household appliances. We know that some construction companies in Kazakhstan prefer selling furnished apartments,” Ambassador Pavel Utyupin noted.

Belarus and Kazakhstan also advance cooperation in construction of agricultural facilities. For example, the countries are mulling over building large dairy complexes in Kazakhstan. “Belarus has good experience in setting up such dairy complexes. We could implement the project on a turnkey basis: Belarusian companies will design and construct the facilities, and Belarus will supply equipment and breeding stock. This offer is currently under negotiations, we are in talks with some agricultural enterprises of Kazakhstan that have expressed interest in the project. The Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry intends to send a delegation to Kazakhstan to give an impetus to this work and set these plans into motion,” Pavel Utyupin said.

Belarus-Kazakhstan trade and economic cooperation also holds great promise, the ambassador believes. “I am sure that we can hit the mark of $1 billion in mutual trade in the near future,” he noted.
