Belarus’ Kamvol sells its products to ten countries

MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian textile producer Kamvol exports its products to ten countries, the company's Director General Yuliya Grinchik told the media, BelTA has learned.

“Today, Kamvol is, first and foremost, about preserving traditions, preserving the team, and preserving the history that Belarus has,” Yuliya Grinchik said. “We are probably the only company in the post-Soviet space that has retained the full cycle of processing and producing semi-woolen fabrics. None of our former USSR countries, or even current CIS states, have similar production capabilities to those of Belarus. From wool, we produce suit fabrics, coat fabrics, woolen cloth, technical felt, and even business-class fabrics. Preserving traditions, history, and the ability to have our own national product is crucial. That is what Kamvol represents today.”

Kamvol’s products are exported to ten countries. “These are mainly traditional markets, but nevertheless, we are moving into new countries that have not cooperated with us before. For example, this year we have launched shipments to Tajikistan. We also plan cooperation with Turkmenistan. Kuwait is a very interesting market; we already have direct supplies, although these are still small volumes. I hope we will grow and continue to develop. Limitations push to new accomplishments and achievements,” the director general emphasized.

On 4 September, Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic and the head of state’s authorized representative in Minsk Natalya Kochanova took part in the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of Kamvol. The speaker toured an exhibition of the company's products. “I am sincerely happy to be here with you today and to congratulate you on this remarkable anniversary. Everyone who has worked here, who works here now, and who will work here in the future continues the proud traditions of those who laid the foundations of this outstanding enterprise,” Natalya Kochanova said.

According to the speaker, Kamvol has become a super-modern enterprise, one of the best among many countries. Natalya Kochanova noted that the large-scale modernization carried out on the instruction of the Belarusian president is yielding results. “Today, you produce goods that are in demand not only in the market of Belarus but far beyond the country’s borders,” she stressed.

The speaker also mentioned the recently held 3rd Belarus-Uzbekistan Women’s Business Forum in Vitebsk, where fabrics and products manufactured by Kamvol were on display. “We proudly showcased it and spoke about the fact that this is our product, from our Belarusian enterprises,” Natalya Kochanova emphasized. “Your garments are popular. They are competitive. You have your own distribution network. That is also excellent.”

The chairwoman of the Council of the Republic expressed gratitude to all employees for their work and emphasized the importance of teamwork. “You are the people whose labor strengthens the country's economy. If people come here and stay to work, it means this is a good, wonderful team. I know how challenging this work is. But you work and do everything to ensure that the tasks facing your enterprise are fulfilled with honor and dignity,” the speaker added.

Kamvol is one of the largest full-cycle enterprises in the post-Soviet space, from yarn production to the release of fabrics and clothing collections. The main activities of Kamvol are the preparation and worsted spinning of wool fibers; preparation and carded spinning of wool fibers. The enterprise comprises combing and spinning production, as well as weaving and finishing production (for worsted and woolen fabrics).
