
MINSK, 7 March (BelTA) – We invite Belarus to actively invest in the Myanmar economy, Chairman of the State Administrative Council, Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing told the media following the talks with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, BelTA learned.
For example, he drew attention to the presence of three deep-water ports in Myanmar. He suggested that the Belarusian side invest in the development of their infrastructure on mutually beneficial terms.
In his opinion, there are wide opportunities for joint activities in agriculture and manufacturing sector, which was also the subject of detailed discussion during his visit to Belarus and negotiations at all levels. Since agriculture is the main sector of Myanmar's economy, the country is interested in Belarusian technologies in agricultural industry, mechanical engineering and purchasing various fertilizers. According to the Myanmar side, the use of modern Belarusian technologies, competencies, and equipment will further strengthen Myanmar's position as one of the leaders in rice and legume crops production, contribute to food security, and increase exports.

There is also a proposal to invest in Myanmar's economy to organize various production facilities, for example, in the production of concrete, which Myanmar imports in significant amounts every year, or in the cultivation and processing of rubber for the production of tires.
Summarizing the results of the visit, Min Aung Hlaing called it a success. He said he had the opportunity to frankly discuss a wide range of issues with the Belarusian leader and thanked Belarus for its constant support of Myanmar in the international arena. The prime minister expressed readiness to expand relations not only at the interstate level, but also between the peoples of the two countries, as well as at the international level.
