MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in building partnerships with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in information and communications technology and digitalization, the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of Belarus told BelTA.
Belarus’ Minister of Communications and Informatization Kirill Zalessky held talks in Riyadh with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha.
At the meeting, Kirill Zalessky emphasized that Belarus is particularly interested in expanding cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the field of information and communications technology and digitalization, noting that resident companies of the Hi-Tech Park play a key role in this process. He added that Belarusian IT companies are ready for active cooperation with their Saudi partners.
In turn, Abdullah Alswaha praised the Belarusian Hi-Tech Park’s achievements on the international stage and emphasized the importance of cooperation between key players in this field. He also invited Belarusian companies to establish a permanent presence in Saudi Arabia.
Both parties highlighted the significant potential of the Belarusian IT sector, which could contribute to the Kingdom’s digital transformation and the development of Belarusian-Saudi cooperation.
During the visit, Kirill Zalessky also toured the Digital Government Authority of Saudi Arabia, where he learned about the innovation hub, which provides methodological, technological, and consulting support to government agencies in the development, testing, and implementation of digital services and solutions. A business briefing was held to present resident companies of the Belarusian Hi-Tech Park and their digital products and solutions.
The delegation, led by Kirill Zalessky, is visiting Saudi Arabia from 7 to 10 December. The visit is aimed at developing bilateral relations and exchanging experience in digitalization.
