Belarus’ Industry Ministry reports 50% export growth to non-CIS countries 

MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) - Exports by enterprises affiliated with the Belarusian Industry Ministry to non-CIS countries have increased by almost 50% for the reporting period in 2025, Belarusian First Deputy Industry Minister Andrei Konyushko said at a press conference to mark Mechanical Engineer’s Day, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian Industry Ministry is focused on implementing a range of import substitution and integration projects. “This year we keep the momentum going. In fact, over the past period, investment in active assets has grown by 30% year-on-year. Over this five-year period, the investment in active assets of the enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry has tripled. About 25 import-substitution and integration projects are being implemented in almost all sub-sectors of mechanical engineering,” Andrei Konyushko noted. At the same time, the domestic market is supplied with high-quality innovative products, with deliveries also made outside Belarus.

According to him, exports to non-CIS countries have increased by almost 50% this year so far. “Besides our traditional markets, we continue to work on diversifying and expanding the geography of supplies. This is mainly to Latin America, Africa, and non-CIS countries in general. Enterprises are approaching their professional holiday, Mechanical Engineer’s Day, with decent results,” the minister said.

This year, Brest will host the celebrations center of Mechanical Engineer’s Day, which is observed annually on the last Sunday of September. Festive events will take place here on 19 September. They will be held under the slogan A Time of Opportunities. A Time of Victories, emphasizing new prospects for technical progress, achievements, innovation implementation, and the development of the entire mechanical engineering industry.

An organizing committee was set up at the Industry Ministry to arrange the festive events. It includes representatives of the ministry, sectoral trade unions, and all holdings of the Industry Ministry.
