Belarus' industrial output up by 40% in H1 2021

MINSK, 27 August (BelTA) – In H1 2021 companies affiliated with the Industry Ministry increased export of products by almost 40%, BelTA learned from spokesman of the Belarusian Industry Ministry Oleg Slepchenko.

"In the context of potential sanctions risks and unpredictability of foreign counterparties, the epidemiological situation, the positive dynamics of Q1 was observed across all major financial and economic indicators in H1 2021. Industrial output amounted to more than Br8.7 billion in actual prices, up by 42.1% year-on-year. Export exceeded $2.3 billion, which represented an increase of 38.8%. Export to Russia rose by 50.7%, non-CIS countries – by 17.8%, Europe - 31.9%, America - 2.8 times," Oleg Slepchenko said.

The Industry Ministry fulfilled all key performance indicators of the sector. It posted 9.5% in return on sales, 38.8% in export growth and minus 2.6% in the reduction of production and sales costs. Profit from sales stood at Br975 million, up more than two times year-on-year. The industrial sector produced net profit. Wages in industrial organizations were paid in full and on time.

“Ambitious tasks have been set for the second half of the year, with the output and sales projected to stand not lower than in H1,” the spokesman emphasized.
