MINSK, 6 September (BelTA) – Belarus and the International Maritime Organization have sketched out prospects of cooperation in the sphere of transportation by sea, representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
These matters were discussed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, permanent representative at the International Maritime Organization Sergei Aleinik met with the organization's Secretary General Kitack Lim.
During the meeting the ambassador handed over (deposited) documents confirming Belarus' accession to the 2011 International Convention on Civil Liability for Bunker Oil Pollution Damage and the 2007 Nairobi International Convention on the Removal of Wrecks.
Sergei Aleinik and Kitack Lim discussed the current state of affairs and prospects of cooperation in transportation by sea as well as preparations for the 31st session of the IMO Assembly in November 2019.
