Belarus has no plans to revise budget deficit

MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) - The Belarusian Finance Ministry has no plans to revise the budget deficit, Finance Minister Yuri Seliverstov told the media ahead of the ministry's board meeting on 7 April, BelTA has learned.

“We have no plans to reconsider the deficit. We have taken some measures to restrain the expenses. We may take some more to deal with additional revenues,” said Yuri Seliverstov.

The minister did not rule out that additional support measures, including those for the banking sector, would require increasing the deficit. “It will be done, however, within the limits the government has,” he added.
