MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) - Belarus has harvested 16% of grasses, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 13 June, first grass was cut on the area of 1,091,000 hectares (77.7%). Belarus harvested 79,900 tonnes of hay (11.4%), 5,414,000 tonnes of haylage (40.7%) and 201,600 tonnes of silage (0.98%). There are plans to harvest over 9.8 million tonnes of grass fodder this year; at the moment 16.3% of the plan has been harvested.
Perennial grasses were planted on 86.2% of the area.
