Belarus’ gold, forex reserves at $8.359bn on 1 July 2024

MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) – According to preliminary data, Belarus’ international reserve assets totaled the equivalent of $8.359 billion as of 1 July 2024, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.

The country’s gold and foreign currency reserves went down by $52.9 million (or 0.63%) in June 2024 after another drop by $30.1 million (0.36%) in May 2024.

Foreign currency assets and monetary gold make up the largest share in the structure of international reserve assets of Belarus. According to the National Bank, the amount of foreign currency in the reserves totaled $2.948 billion on 1 July 2024, decreasing by $24.7 million (0.83%) in June, with monetary gold at $4,050.8 million, down by $23.4 million (0.57%).

According to the main monetary management guidelines for the year 2024, Belarus’ international reserve assets are projected to be at least $6 billion at the end of 2024.
