MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) - According to preliminary data, Belarus’ international reserve assets totaled the equivalent of $8,352.5 million as of 1 April 2024, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
The country’s gold and foreign currency reserves went up by $133.9 million (or 1.6%) in March 2024 after rising by $125.1 million (1.55%) in February 2024.
Foreign currency assets and monetary gold make the largest share in the structure of international reserve assets of Belarus. According to the National Bank, the amount of foreign currency in the reserves totaled $3,138.5 million on 1 April 2024, decreasing by $158.1 million (4.8%) in March, with monetary gold at $3,843.8 million, up by $291 million (8.2%).
According to the main monetary management guidelines for the year 2024, Belarus’ international reserve assets are projected to be at least $6 billion at the end of 2024.
