Belarus, Germany intent on long-term relations

MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Germany are intent on long-term relations, BelTA learned from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Belarus Manfred Huterer on the sidelines of the 10th Day of German Economy in Belarus on 26 September.

The ambassador said: “Relations between our countries are stable and oriented towards longevity. German companies come to work in Belarus not for the sake of making fast money and leaving. They come here to stay. It is part of the German trade and economic policy.”

The ambassador added that Belarus is an excellent economic partner for Germany. He remarked that progress in advancing relations between Belarus and Germany can be secured only through efforts of the two sides. It will allow enabling conditions not only for the arrival of German companies on the Belarusian market but also for the arrival of Belarusian companies in Germany.

The 10th Day of German Economy in Belarus is dedicated to trade, manufacturing cooperation, and investments in Belarusian-German economic relations. The purpose of the event is to make the Belarusian business community familiar with the areas of activity of German companies in Belarus, to discuss topical matters of economic development and facilitate effective development of trade and economic relations, manufacturing cooperation, and investment cooperation between Belarusian and German companies.

The event has brought together representatives of Belarusian and German companies and organizations, central and municipal government agencies, and international organizations. The business forum is one of the items on the itinerary of State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy Ulrich Nussbaum during his visit to Belarus. He is accompanied by a delegation of German companies.
