Belarus’ foreign trade surplus at $730.4m in January-November

MINSK, 11 January (BelTA) – In January-November 2023 the surplus of Belarus’ foreign trade in goods and services amounted to $730.4 million. Meanwhile, Belarus’ foreign trade rose by 8.3% from January-November 2022 to $86.7 billion, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).

According to the central bank, in January-November 2023 Belarus had a deficit of the foreign trade in merchandise as large as $1.83 billion. In January-November 2023 merchandise import totaled $37.85 billion, with export at $36.02 billion. In January-November 2023 merchandise export rose by 5.6%. Monthly volumes of merchandise export have been gradually rising since August 2023.

The deficit of Belarus’ foreign trade in merchandise was offset by a surplus of the foreign trade in services as large as $2.6 billion in January-November 2023. Belarus exported $7.7 billion and imported $5.1 billion worth of services in this period.
