Belarus' food exports to Turkey up almost 5 times in H1 2021

MINSK, 27 August (BelTA) - Belarus increased food exports to Turkey 4.8 times in the first half of the year, BelTA learned from the official Telegram channel of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

The first meeting of the Belarusian-Turkish working group on agriculture took place via video conference. The parties discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation and outlined steps to intensify it.

“Turkey is an important trade and economic partner for Belarus. In H1 2021, food exports to Turkey increased 4.8 times compared to the same period last year and amounted to $2.9 million,” the ministry said.

Belarus is interested in further increasing the supply of high-quality food products to Turkey, primarily dairy products: butter, cheeses, skimmed and whole milk powder, and in the future, meat products (beef and poultry), produced in accordance with the Halal requirements.
