Belarus' first vice premier on visit to Russia's Leningrad Oblast

MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) – Belarus works with reliable partners, Belarusian First Vice Premier Nikolai Snopkov said during his working trip to Leningrad Oblast, Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian government.

On 15 June Nikolai Snopkov attended a presentation of modern sewage treatment facilities in the village of Staraya Sloboda. They have been launched by Lenoblvodokanal and have already proved their effectiveness. The facilities use modern technology to clean the sewage coming from the village of Staraya Sloboda and Holy Trinity Alexander-Svirsky Monastery.

Nikolai Snopkov emphasized that Belarusian technologies and equipment - modular treatment plants - are used in the region to improve the quality of water supply and wastewater disposal. Under the agreement between the government of Leningrad Oblast and the Belarusian Government, more than 30 stations have already been installed.

The Russian cultural capital has also become an economic capital for four days. The Russian city is hosting one of the world's largest and most significant business events - St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, and Nikolai Snopkov is set to take part in it.
