MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – In January-June 2024 Belarus’ exports rose by 4.2% or $0.8 billion year-on-year, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry of Belarus.
The main growth driver is food products. Their exports surged by 13.2%, including milk and dairy products - by 15.5%, meat - by 8.6%. The growth came on the heels of the increase in physical volumes of supplies.
Exports in June were the highest in seven months hitting $3.563 billion. In June, exports were up 7% from June 2023 and by 3.3% from May 2024.
The outpacing growth of exports over imports improved the foreign trade balance by almost $100 million.
