Belarus' exports to Russia's Sakhalin Oblast up by more than 7 times in January-September 2021

MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Ivan Krupko met with Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Sakhalin Oblast Aleksei Butukhanov on 9 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

The parties discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Sakhalin Oblast, in particular the supply of Belarusian equipment (cargo, passenger, municipal and farm vehicles), and also food products and agricultural raw materials. "In 2020, Belarus' exports to Sakhalin Oblast region amounted to $0.9 million This year, the trade rose significantly to total almost $4 million in January-September 2021. Belarus' exports to Sakhalin Oblast surged by more than 7.4 times," the press service said.

The working groups on the development of cooperation between Belarus and Sakhalin Oblast held a joint meeting in May of this year and signed a plan of action for 2021-2023 to implement the agreement between the governments of Belarus and Sakhalin Oblast, the ministry noted.
