Belarus’ export to Asian countries up 40% in Q1 2025

MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) - Belarus increased its export supplies to Asian countries by 40% in the first quarter of 2025, Denis Sidorov, Head of the Export Promotion Division of the Foreign Economic Activity Department of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told the media on the sidelines of the second business conference “Industrial Complex of Belarus: Export, Import Independence, Effective Management” in Minsk on 20 May, BelTA has learned.

According to the Q1 2025 results, foreign trade in goods and services increased by 1.8% - that is plus $406 million. “We continue to trade with 190 countries and territories. The list of out top ten partners includes Russia, China, UAE, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, India, Brazil, Uzbekistan, Germany and Poland. The export of services is vibrant - a 14.8% growth has been ensured,” said Denis Sidorov.  

The main markets to which Belarus increased its export supplies in Q1 2025 were: African countries - by 2 times, Latin America - by 1.8 times, Asian countries - by 40%.

Belarus' export priority for the near future is the focus on the faraway countries. “These markets should occupy 30% of the country’s total trade in the program of the government’s activities. This is a priority task. Among the priorities is also the preserving of the existing markets and also the development of trade and economic relations with the Russian Federation,” he emphasized.
